Perfusionist training, including certificate course at Münster University of Applied Sciences 2027 (m/f/d)
We are looking for
Do you have a first professionally qualifying university degree in medical technology, biomedicine or a related field, or have you completed training as a paramedic, nurse or a comparable professional qualification in the medical field, or do you have 3 years of professional experience as a cardiac technician? Then you can apply for our 2-year university certificate course in Clinical Perfusion / Cardiology Technology.
We offer you sound theoretical and practical training in the field of extracorporeal circulation, qualifying you to work as a clinical perfusionist/cardiotechnician and sit the certification examination of the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (EBCP). The theoretical skills are taught in block seminars (1st – 3rd semester) at Münster University of Applied Sciences. The practical training to become a clinical perfusionist/cardiotechnician takes place in the cardiotechnical department of one of our 11 full-service clinics, which are located throughout Germany. At the same time, course participants complete a four-week internship in other areas to familiarise themselves with them.
Your qualifications

- At least 3 years of professional experience in cardiac technology

Practical training content
- Planning, preparation, implementation and documentation of extracorporeal circulation during cardiac surgery procedures.
- Provision and operation of cardiac support systems (ECMO, VAD and IABP).
- Standby duties during procedures without a heart-lung machine (e.g. OPCAB).
- IT documentation
- Assignments in hybrid operating theatres (e.g. for catheter-assisted heart valve implantations)
- Collaboration in research and development
- (heart-lung transplants)
- (maintenance of artificial heart systems)
- Participation in on-call and weekend duties
